Mission Statement
Glitterbomb is a collaborative performance initiative dedicated to amplifying the voices of marginalized communities. We are committed to nurturing emerging artists, fostering equitable casting practices, and promoting harm reduction, outreach, and support. We strive to enhance the well-being of the LGBTQIA+ community by creating a safe and welcoming space for people from all walks of life.
What Defines Us
Fostering Inclusivity and Artistic Freedom
As a Queer Variety Show, Glitterbomb prides itself on being a space where queer artists across the spectrum of identity, artform, and experience can thrive. By creating an environment of inclusivity and artistic freedom, we continue to empower performers to grow both personally and professionally, fostering a vibrant community of diverse talents.
Providing Visibility and Opportunities for Underrepresented Performers
In 2024, Glitterbomb showcased over 50 performers, shining a spotlight on often-underrepresented groups such as BIPOC performers, drag kings, and queerlesque artists. Our themed shows—like Flowers, featuring an all-BIPOC cast, and King Cake:The All Kings Review —celebrated these incredible talents and provided them with the recognition they deserve, offering unforgettable moments to both performers and audiences alike.
Partnering to Provide Resources and Build Community Connections
Beyond the stage, Glitterbomb collaborates with local non-profit organizations to extend support to our community. These partnerships enable the distribution of harm reduction supplies, as well as mental and physical health resources, ensuring they reach those who need them most. Together, we weave a safety net of support for our vibrant community.
